UNESCO Chair team member at the international seminar in Bucharest

On 22 January 2026, a representative of the UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability will participate in the international seminar “Digital Transformation and Innovation Ecosystems in SME Internationalization”, hosted by SNSPA Bucharest.

Our member of the research team, Kelaniyage Shihan Dilruk Fernando, will contribute to the seminar with a presentation titled:“Are innovation-driven business networks an effective catalyst for going international?”

The contribution aligns closely with the mission of the UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability, addressing the intersection of digital transformation, innovation, and social sustainability. Special attention will be given to how innovation-driven networks contribute not only to economic competitiveness, but also to responsible growth, resilience, and long-term societal impact.

The seminar brings together scholars and practitioners from across Europe to discuss how digital technologies, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and adaptive leadership are reshaping SME internationalization pathways. Participation in this event reinforces the active engagement of the UNESCO Chair for Social Sustainability in international research dialogue and policy-relevant debates on sustainable development and inclusive innovation.
